I was fooled
into believeing in
love again

dreamt it was true
held on
believing you knew

but sometimes
it's not about love
and slowly you withdrew

my heart in your hands
soul spent in the dew
of the first rain of the season
that poured the bitter sweetness
I knew so well

and my spirit weeps
somewhere in the
mirrors reflection
of the truth

I remember the song---"you tell such lovely lies, with your two lovely eyes!" Fooled into loving again, ah, the vicissitudes of the many faces of love! Be of good cheer, you are not alone in this. Loved the poem --

Angel4aKing:

It's always bittersweet sad when love departs..esp when we are somehow fooled by disingenuous actions on the part of others. But daybreak always follows the dark..

love will return if we stay open..

nice read!

As the saying goes "Better to have loved and lost than..... Hmm...I must've forgotten the rest.

I love your last stanza. Enjoyed.

You'd be surprised by the pain I can imagine inflicting and receiving.

No wonder they say love is blind and people always fall in love too. Makes me think, why they say that. Fine writing.

Gilead,
Thank you so for your response and yes I know the song...Love does have many faces and is blind...

Daaaark....
Thank you for gracing me with your presence and for the valuable insight...I think you just might be reading btween my lines here.... The winter may have passed and I may have missd the spring,,,,,but there is aways next season lol maybe I AM my own worst enemy!

Flash,
I am brinking on the day break after the darkness...thank you for stoppin by!!!

Jerry,
But of them all it is the most misunderstood..... thnx for reading....

Trina,
But to have loved and won ahhh now that could turn the bittersweet into the sweetest of sweets!!!

Prasad Nataraj,
Thank you for stoppin by to read, when love is real it just is, to be fooled by love is to misunderstand the love you are recieving, I think that is where I was going with this one!!!

Thanks again for all of your comments!!
