Sound like one of those Mexican standoffs to me, serenity. Can you still say Mexican standoff? Yep. Guess so. I just did.

That old peace pipe of trust sometimes carries a double-edged sense of untrustworthiness.

And everybody's got somethin' to hide, except for me and my monkey.

um

monkeys...decidedly plural. ( 'Drop the why and add ie, exception, when? the occasional e that stands long alone." <--Karen waves "hey" to Mrs. Landrum.

Love you much. Thanks for reading.

It seems that the dictum, judge not and be not judged has no standing here, but rather that judgment is inevitable and reciprocal! There is a certain sense of enigma that I can't put my finger on, for trust should not be logically associated with petty judgment, but with reliance on integrity and truth. Now, you see what this poem has done? sent me down the path of adjudging and parsing in bewilderment! What can I say? You write esoterically, and one must decipher what he will, or can! Perhaps I should simply rely on the poem's title, Ritual--an act of expanding, distorting the mind via the contents of the pipe.

Wow, Serenity, I'm not accustomed to getting an A, and I am delighted, as much as I enjoyed the adventure of the mind in taking in the mystery of your poem. A poet has the right and privilege to write with a touch of the obscure and the ambiguous, it is the intrigue that tantalizes the senses, and takes the language from the ordinary to the extraordinary. When that happens, a poem succeeds, as with your penning here!

Write on!

Aw...I hope that A didn't make me an ass.

I have a hard time with compliments.

Just please know that you made my day.

Thanks again, Art.

Group hugs?

I think we should all get kazoos.

Seriously.

It's hard to stay depressed while playing one of those things.

Jerry, my friend, I raise the cup to thee, and the savor of the wine I share with you vicariously, and in spirit! Salut!
