Here are some  Senyru (humorous haiku ) written in the traditional 5 7 5 syllabic count that I created recently--to add a little levity to your day. "Laughter..the best medicine!" Hope you enjoy!

doubting dyslexic
wondering whether or not
there might be a dog

host of fireflies
greeting guests at motel six:
"we'll keep the light on"

surfing the wide web
a spider crawls on my screen
I tweet while bug weaves

wearing trendy jeans--
patches and holes in the knees
from garden pruning

practicing Yoga
for years standing on my head
now have shoe fetish

olympic hopeful
practices on balance beam
morris on catwalk

little league ball game
the umpire calls strike three
parents start fighting

I love senryu better than haiku, but that's just me.

The Motel Six won the day for me, with Little League coming in a close second.

Coppertone is gold
Down there on Miami Beach
Tan lines don't exist.

"Gracias, senor",
Margarita smiles with joy,
While tequila flows.

"Come up to my room?
Tourist says with lusty grin.
Margarita nods.

That's Miami Beach,
Hell or heaven, all depends
On who pays the bill.

Land of sand and sun,
Broken hearts and shattered dreams
Scattered on the  beach.

Balladeer: I love yours! Especially "who pays the rent!" Ha..I can use a distaff member to cuddle on this cold (for Fla) winter? night. (below 50 is freezing point blanket time down south).

Jerry: glad you enjoyed my absurd sense of reality! I agree: Senryu far more interesting than the moon haiku

Here's 3  more I wrote today-- "begging" you to read!

at the wishing well
a beggar makes wish--wades in--
"6-pack of Bud, please!"

walking city streets
no one making eye contact
except the beggars

dentist waiting chair
"sir, please remove your bluetooth,"
the hygeinist asks

thanks again for the read!

This almost slipped by me in the rush of poems that pop up on this site.  This definitely deserves to be enjoyed by others.  Thanks for a laugh.
