Counting Laps

An executive she was, three inches past the knees,
Or an aboriginal princess, perhaps? White mocs---or were they cowgirl chaps?
Now the globe spins toward a freeze, and sunlight ebbs from trees to ever taller trees.
Soon it will be time for naps---for counting sheep, for counting out her shepherd's laps.

A water lily by the sea, emerged from the shadows, rustily,
To wade half down the watery strand of gentle waves, and into sand.

Hi easy1...I lost the gist, or was it the bliss...but I found something profound was coming around as your words played, counting laps.

Yes, the "aboriginal princess" wading into the water. I can see the scene. Very beatifully drawn. You're an artist.
