Oh how she wanted him
to write her into a corner,
he, who knew the secret language
of language,
that elision of intensity
that campaign of metaphor
where thrust and parry
each were fold and pressure
to delight in every
juicing bite
of intellect`s sweet
and tangy marrow
yearned to be put
in her place
by a curling word
or whetted letter
sharp as the scythe
and trimming where she grew
much too full and wild
where neglected
arched with dull frustration
at the attempt to dance
against the walls of those
whose milling stones
stilled or polished gentle
where she pressed

I thought this was wonderful!

Oh how she wanted him
to write her into a corner,
he, who knew the secret language
of language,
that elision of intensity
that campaign of metaphor
where thrust and parry
each were fold and pressure
to delight in every
juicing bite
of intellect`s sweet
and tangy marrow

Lovin' it write on!

Wow, dear Amaryllis, how passionately your pen dances here ... for a long goodbye that does not want to ever be, deep down where heartbeats signal emotions.

Fantastic write.

Love,
Margherita

Wow! This is a sensuous seductive compilation of metaphors full of ambiguous innuendo.

I almost let this gem of a poem slip by me.  What a wonderful treat of metaphors.
