Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

My friend laughs with delight
Expression gleeful
Voice lilting with expression
As she tells of her husband’s shirts
Tattered and worn
Hidden in her closet in plain sight
And I wonder if she realizes
These touch stones of his past
Only remain hidden out of sight
Because he loves her so

"Hidden in her closet in plain sight

These touch stones of his past

That is just beautiful with such a twist of thought. The economy of words and the feelings expressed with poetic seasoning of time.

Don't know why you'd ever think you shouldn't be writing?

Oh I love this, Alison!  Eric quoted the very part I was going to... I love `touchstones`.. you have a unique voice, a pleasure to read. Glad your muse is back and perky again!

Best~

So playful and cheery with a twist at the end. Enjoyed this.

You ever stop writing and I'll hunt you down like a husky hunts a seal  (er, do huskies hunt seals?) Anyway, you get my drift
