.

As if in layers
Of orange light
Dusk settles
On the meadow

Flights of geese
And sparrows
Pass under a silver
Crescent moon

Stars will sparkle
Like distant candles
Set in windows to urge
Lost lovers home

Last crickets
Are chirping
As the late autumn air
Frosts and turns
Irretrievably cold

Who is that figure
Gliding out
Of old shadows
To haunt my slumber
As if I didn’t know

Very interesting bit of composing, Huan Yi. I was reading the wonderful verses telling of a seasonal change and was thoroughly impressed and was there with you.

Then came the last verse. I'll lose sleep tonight trying to figure out whose figure it was gliding out of old shadows and causing you to lose sleep.

Loved it!
