I've never climbed a mountain
but will a rocky outcrop do
to make it seem I triumphant
over life's momentous needs?

I've never played the tune
of my own amazing grace
but does that mean to say
no one knows the beat?

There never was the straight to love
but do all the corners, bends,
turned along the way
mean I never got there?

I've never done, thought, or been,
the truly most spectacular
but does that mean to say
the less isn't more?

But love with me the questions marks;
they're pretty curly things
like the straps on a backpack
that soon will fray and scatter all
into the sands of time!

easy1 - Thanks and I know about them there aching backs!

Eric - Thank you and I also know about being frayed because all of that nonsense is still ... on my back.

As they say, Life's great if we don't weaken.

A lot of questions, Helen, and even as you ask them your words form the answers. Clever. Direct. Searching and well-done.

Thanks JerryPat.  Yes, the questions do form the answers if we could but believe.

"I've never done, thought, or been,
the truly most spectacular..."

I seriously doubt your words are true
For spectacular is what you always do
Within these halls of poetic blue
Question marks and I, we bow to you

Thank you, Andrew, for your most kind and encouraging comment.  I worked for a lawyer in the good old days and he told me then to write everything down.  I'm not sure I did it then but I'm certainly doing it now.

Thanks again.
