The Vet

He was caught up in time and tide
The Nation’s leaders took a side
VietNam became Grim Reaper's chore
Now ask the Veteran what he fought for

Anger is still shaking him deep
Nightmares still proclaim his sleep
He traveled away, so far to keep
Promises; still, his country weeps

For those who are lost and gone
His country, he, who went beyond
With the will of men who went along
For a cause they thought was strong

He led those teams who went to war
Thank him please, for what he fought for

regardless of what they fought for... they did their duty and some paid the ultimate price. I certainly wish to thank all who have served.

a very nice tribute Ms Sun.

Very timely, appropriate... add my gratitude here also, to all who have served. Thanks for writing this, Sunshine.

All people in services need to be thanked for their courage, selfless sacrificing life. Fine writing.
