I don’t recall
learning how to convert
lettering into lexis

it was something that just
always pleased me, reading…
comic books in the bathroom or
under covers with the prohibited
flashlight and transistor radio

Heaven!

I do remember reading
Sunday comics to my brother
when he couldn’t yet talk…
and we, only 23 months apart
in age…

I do remember when X
was supposed to be a number
divided or multiplied by 2 or more
and that never made sense
whatsoever. If you’re going to take
the time to scrawl an X
then sketch the number, dang it!

…and I only think of this
because dyslexia
loves portions of my progeny
as well as to the left
and right of this hierarchy

And it is not something
I can understand,
like when an X
wants to be a number…

It just doesn’t compute.

Lexis... how cute!  Oh my oldest son would love this poem      He struggles with it too... but does know how many famous/famed minds have overcome dyslexia also.  No offense here ok, but his favorite joke is to thrust his fist into the air and shout: "Dyslexics, untie!!"   LOL
.
Best~

Hah! X marks the spot is the only place where an X makes sense . . . er . . . Except the move, "The Divorce of Lady X." I like Amaryllis's son's solution.

. . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(&#!$!

Calculations never made sense to me too and  never been my cup of tea, number fetish. Fine writing.
