Rendezvous

Your smile, strawberry in the drunken light of the night.
We touch behind our eyes,
past sounds of rhythm play along
to the waltz in our heart.
A ghost from the past plays moonlight echoes,
on prayers and promises of buried dreams,
dreams never captured by their vows.

Retrospect the soul's thief,
a late cracksman to rob the peace,
the calm that rests with lost faith
left on a shelf of promise in haste.
Your familiar sweet breasts heaving
on a wave flowing into
the revolution of darkness we share.

Sub rosa, we lie peaceful easy where,
replete with love, we're drowsy,
servants of covert hearts.
We wish long into the strange night.

love the lines above... I don't often hear the term cracksman anymore and to have it used to describe retrospect, just icing...

enjoyed your offering sir...

The last line, "We wish long into the strange night." fascinates me to no end. I like the feel of the words, words which could go either way, something delightfully wonderful coming your way, or disaster looms like a runaway avalanche on top of you. Great writing throughout.

This has some good lines in it such as `we touch behind our eyes`, dreams never captured by their vows and of course `retrospect the soul`s thief`.  Nice.
