Josephine

six months pregnant on a boat from Germany
heading for the grandeur of Saskatchewan prairies
you find a small wooden church
a field of wheat and bones

you knew you wouldn't see your son again
when he left for the war
stationed far from your Deutschland
while you checked in each week at the post office

then the fever came, quick and bloody
when your son returns
he breaks the frozen ground
for your gray body

Most interesting, eminor_angel. Quite a story in so few words.
