After the divorce, I stayed single
for over seventeen years.
All I needed was a man here and there,
a bottle of whiskey, and a couple of beers.

And if you'd have asked me when
I planned on getting married again,
I'd have laughed and called you crazy,
pointing out the bad in men.

But when it happened, it happened fast!
Just like I had lost control,
I still felt empty but God knew
He gave me what would make me whole.

The first year was hard, I wanted to leave,
but He kept telling me I was wrong-
funny how what I had always wanted
was in front of me all along.

See, I met this man back in 95
but there was another man around.
He went his way, I went mine,
but fourteen years later, I'd been found!

So if you ever have doubt about
whether God is there, HE IS!
I'm finally in love with my husband
and I'm gratefully, faithfully, forever his.

occasional 'happy endings' (if they last) can also be attributable to random chance. They do not, in and of themselves, offer 'proof' of the existence of any 'supreme being.' There are likely far more of us out here on the absolute fringe of the "Runaway American Dream" that are hopelessly beyond such positive experiences...

pleasant 'write' though ... nice to hear about accidental 'miracles' ...

Lovely sentiments here, Dixie, but I tend to believe that the only thing that makes you whole is you.

Well, I for one believe in miracles regardless of who makes them happen.  I'm so happy for your miracle, Dixie.

Sometimes we work so hard at pushing people and love away... we lose it. I am glad you found that special someone who held on and helped you see...

nice work ma'am...
