I found it today
a once green leaf
pressed between pages of an old book

it speaks of a different man
a man tilting
on the edge of yesterday
holding himself steady with a dream
a hint
a belief

he took my hand
crouching as if to spring
stepped to firm ground

slowly
carefully
he fit me into the round of his need
deep in those warming spring nights

we became
a silver green flowering
leaving behind moss hidden remnants
of other lives

and a once green leaf
pressed
between pages of an old book

Its always fun to find stuff we had forgotten between the pages and reminisce.
Enjoyed.

Warms my heart the way you tell it.

Love is a funny thing because it changes right before our eyes, becoming something different from what we had originally anticipated.  Nice writing here with images that remain in the mind.

Ahh, Kate...you are so right.

Strange and eerie little things continue
to happen.

Enjoying this - it's been far too long
between reads.

VERY fine writing !!

I especially love that line about
'holding oneself steady with a dream' !

Maybe I read too much between the lines, but the piece seemed poignant, and a little sad to me. Kind of like looking through a relatives photos and finding one that contained a half-forgotten memory that is still bitter-sweet. Excellent write, even if I am guilty of misinterpretation.

Such beautiful, warm awareness of what was and of what is.

Excellent and captivating ... deeply.

Earl, love does change right before our eyes. Thank you for reading and for your reply.

Karilea, thank you so much. I can feel those strange eerie little things.

Dixie, I love the honesty in your work. Thank you so much.

Thank you very much Ida.

Gunslinger, misinterpretation is not possible. We each bring our own experience to a poem and it means exactly what it means to you. Thank you for your kind reply.

Thank you for being there to read and reply Margherita. I appreciate you more than you know.
Love, Kate

Thank you Nancy. Hugs to you…

THIS is just exquisite, Lady. To have lived and found such passion and love in a world which is quickly turning into something I, for one, do not recognize, the poetry is is spectacular. Beautifully penned.
