Thirty-three men in the womb of the earth
Waiting their turn for a miracle birth
Each that appeared from a deep narrow hole
Filled up the black hollow pits of my soul

Offering light where my darkness had been
Sharing the love that they harbored within
Pulling my eye from my own fearful plight
To help celebrate a new day and new night

Diplomats all as their flag was unfurled
Showing their courage and faith to the world
As they fought for survival and learned how to cope
Then rose up through the earth with a message of hope

Each  seemed a brother, a father, a friend
And we cheered from afar to the glorious end
Taking in all that our hearts could consume
Of this miracle birth from the earth's deepest womb

A miraculous birthing from
the depths of a potential
grave...

wonderful, indeed.

Thank you, Lady Santos.

Hear! Hear! What a marvelous thing that these men continue to walk upon rather than lie for evermore within the earth. A fine tribute you have penned here m'lady. I bow to you and yours.

Very sensitive and powerful, dear Elizabeth. You really have identified with this dramatic event that ended well.

It was great to see such a happy ending for all of them!

Nicely expressed, Elizabeth!
