       in a moment

precious dreams
of love and purpose
like summer clouds
  floating free,
forever untouchable,
glimpsed in a moment
through barred windows
from dungeon rooms
of a wasted life.

There's desolation here. it's true,  but it has never been stated more beautifully.

Somehow I don't believe any part of your life has ever been wasted. A solid piece... thanks for sharing.

Very evocative and beautifully expressed but can any life be called wasted?

We always forget to cherish precious moments. Short and to the point - Well penned.

death more surely than dying itself, in my opinion.  Well written my friend.

it is the forever untouchable, the unrequited that can make life feel wasted

While I may not have been crazy about the opening lines I found the poem engaging,  It finished on a strong note.

Most beautifully expressed, dear Bruce. We do have the impression of wasting our time sometimes, I understand.

"glimpsed in a moment" says so much to me.

Life is fleeting and such a precious gift.

I'm glad I found this at the very bottom of my page.

tsk on me.

life should not be wasted between dungeons walls, so many things to do and so many seasons to enjoy. Fine writing.
