Time to Let Go

It is time to let go
please ease up on your clasp
And free my hand

It is time to plan
The rest of my life

Please start putting yours in order
So I may be free to live my own.

Dear Martyjo, this is so deeply significant and poignant too, it touched a cord within me and it moved me.

It is of extreme importance I think to know when the time is right to let go of attachment.

Thank you for this wise reminder.

Love and hugs.

Thank you all for stopping in. I have not posted because as you can see  by the date on this,I have not been writing much. I found this while trying to clean out old papers and had forgotten I had written it. It is hard as you say, Easy 1, because it goes both ways. How do we know when it is time to really let go?  When is our job really finished? Thank you and welcome Yuka,  This is the first I have seen your name.

Margherita and Ida thanks so  much for stopping here to give your thoughts.I appreciate you all. latearrival/ jo

There is a very famous painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel--and recently it dawned on me that maybe that painting was not a depiction of God pointing, at all.

Maybe that extended finger was just the lingering extension of a loving handhold...

'cause it is true.

If we want the baby to walk, we have to put the baby down...

love you martyjo.

Jo - I had a boyfriend once who always used to say that planned arrangements never work out.  In my instance his words have proved to be true because not yet am I able to plan my own life - too many hiccups not of my own making.  Not always easy to "put the baby down" but between the writing and now I hope you did manage it.

Icebox, you extend me just by appearing here.

Serenity I learn from you.

Dixie, too late we learn, you know  me as much as you know yourself.

Helen, it seems  no matter how much we think we know,we really have not learned the lesson.

Esuta mae Agreed. Thank you all for aappearing here.  latearrival/jo

Whew, yea not an easy thing to do.

An emotional write to be sure, and so nicely penned.

I thought of my Mother as I read this.  I don't think I'll ever be ready to let her go.  I love this poem, my dear friend.  And, I am tucking it away in my "Save" file.

To be the first to "let go" and start anew takes courage - I applaud you. Enjoyed this.
