I wonder how you remember me
in the darkness of night
as winds push past the windows
as you fight the loneliness inside.
I wonder how you'll miss me
as the days begin to rage
as you grow a bit older
as you leave home the first time.
I wonder in the seconds left
if you will you see me in the past
or living in the future
have I been replaced at last.
I cry out for my last breath
and pray you will hear
my lasting love for a daughter
as the tower one brings my end.

Very poignant. No, it is not easy for fathers when daughters leave the "nest".

How well you expressed this changing
of the guard...

I only hope he treats her as well
as you always imagined he would.
