Sunbeam bursts new
pewter skies, lasering
through woodlands, metamorphosing
emerald green leaves
to saffron-amber.
Fallen leaves abandoned
to sparkle on
moonlit forest floors
until my arrival.
Stepping out through
opaque brume, wrapped
in mist silk, softening
my boot tread.
Emerging from woodland
and murk, orange
orb of the
sun burns fume
away to reveal
a day of
fullsome beauty unconfined.

Friendship is Love without his wings. Lord Byron.

Mmn a lovely poem - I can smell autumn coming off the page & feel the warm glow of sunlight peeking through the leaves.

"brume"  I've learned a new word.  Thanks for taking me into your words and world.

Aha, dear Phil! I see that you are still fit and in fine poetic form! Did you know that I ALWAYS read your poems at least twice? The first time I eagerly read through it to read your poetic pearls. The next time I go through it slowly ~ soaking in the visuals and the atmosphere.

You're a 'natural' poet!

Sending a warm, late summer hug your way,

Linda
