we were the bending reeds on windsome shore twined together by our writhe of need like the lovers fingers we pretended to be nearly pulling root from rooting want then shivering in the cold of melted day there were reasons we gave to not reason and answers we left unanswered on purpose but between the lines we peeked in windows and wanted to sip our cocoa confessions like we were desert desserts of dry freedom the music we made wet body angels inside of was only the sand from before hand oceans that knew how to toss us loose fittingly so we fell into and onto and around heaven not caring which direction our eyes opened but keeping them closed to know heart fingers _______________ daark |
