Again dreams flutter & take flight
loosening storms from tethered soul
fingers reach throughout the night
in search of you

only you

of salt & sugar are your lips
upon the nape of hope they play
sweet refrain of warm embrace
something new

always new

hearts protest such constraints
as those the world says cannot be
your spirit moves deep within
you're part of me

part of me

closed these eyes to never more
water falls of lonely tears
your face inscribed upon my mind
is all I see

all I see

these wings they flutter & take flight
frightened butterfly I be
lifted to the highest heights
without your love I
am not free

only in your arms
I dream...

Kat, thank you, Glad you liked.

Juju, thanks for the smile

Dark, I cannot argue with that statement! Thanks for looking in.

Captain, I appreciate the kind words.

Rosepetals, it's nice to know that my poem reminded you of something good.
