January and it brings forth a cold.

White the flurries flake against a grey day
And I read you
Woven into the skeins of woolen words
There is warmth but it does not wrap itself
Around the feeble limbs of hope
Yet stays a distance from the glass panes
Till I am left with tears
To wet the knotted rope at wrist
I brought New Years in alone
Among cold dark night's sky
Such faint glimmer are stars
To read by

When desolate inside I wonder
At jealous gods who taunt and the ravens
Picking clean the eyes of a dead moon

They are not my hands
And just bones find their own justice I suppose
For the answers all end within the cyclonic winds
That carry destruction to any
Who dare dream
Without a wary eye upon the glass

What matters the last breath?

I no longer understand the way that twigs
Or straw may be woven into a home
Or how the Junco sits on drifts of snow to wait
Some passing fool to throw morsels of crumb
Toward the hungry flutter of heart

They called for this
The winter's storm that sits now heavy
Upon the fey woods and matches the silence within
The ends of soul
But last night I dreamed of lists and names
Two set apart in scribe on vellum sheet
One a familiar sound upon the ear

Marigold
Gardinia
Aloe
And thyme

While the other came as black clot of ink

Eron
Byron
Petre
And Mime

I've nothing but the veins to connect it all

Once upon a rhyme
I remembered what it was to be loved
To be touched when all around was crumbled
And only the dust that clung to air
Would settle down
To watch it snow

As I do
Now~~~

A crush of words I do not understand
And I wipe my eyes
Curse the wet of hand
To turn again and watch the wind

Slowly drift
A January snow

This is so stirring, the emotions you make me feel are somehow made beautiful.

Yet still, it makes my eyes water and miss what used to be.

Love reading you, cpat~

All right...I haven't read the others' comments...

but this is so old school that it is new again, and right again, and remarkable...

again.

The sounds and visions, the imagery, the lust for the lost of willing is here, now, in my face, and nearly chilled by web and dust.

No, this is not critical, but a great YES...this is the type of material that needs to be regenerated. Great names passed my mind as I read through this, and NO, you are not allowed to speak in deference to yourself. Not one whit.

So I duly expect you to ignore my comments... because I was one of the first to say [on this particular board] PUBLISH!

But I don't want to read your Pooh on my note.
