And when we go
Into the goodbye
From this now
And all the agains

To those that miss us
to remain
Do remember
What your being
Brought to ours

The love that warms
Hearts and memories
The lightness
Of laughter that filled
From our togehters
To all our begans

Do remember...
My smile

The one you
Gave me
In my goodbye

From this now
And
In all of my thens

interesting write.. a juxtapose of sorts to me.. bittersweet... when the smile given in goodbye..is fondly remembered..

layers again... I would say... and can be read at least a couple of ways, regardless of intent.

Yes, perceptive as usual. This piece was inspired by a friend whose father passed away...about reminding her how much happiness she brought him...and now that she has a terminal illness...well, layers.  thank you for taking the time to read my work Cpat.

A beautiful poem you have written and shared, Eusta B. Mae.

I have read somewhere that we are all changed "at the last trump", so to speak... but you have reminded that we can take love and knowledge with us---that the real, true smile is not changed (except perhaps for a little cosmetic improvement?).

My dear friend...

what you wrote for her father
only exemplifies your feelings
for her.

Hugs....

distinctive and very well written.

Earl Brinkman-It is difficult as we are losing someone or having lost them, to remember how much happiness we were to them when they were alive.  Grief blinds us to that comfort. ebm
