there beyond those momentary walls
where we adjourned to some seclusion
just to be our most secret selves
away from the clattering of them
those he and her pieces from chess

that never seem to leave the board
as if permanent residence maintains
some sort of semi permanent guarantee
that something will come around again
and fit snugly into worn out nothing

we agree we didn't have feelings this way
and there was never more to it than skin
wanting to make new grooves in another's
but we didn't realize just how deep it went
that itching below our tattooed surfaces

we were pantographs before we were mirrors

This transported me easily back some 35
years when I once worked in the skyline of
Chicago's towering buildings;
looking down upon the traffic of peds and
cabs...

but you wowed it even better than
that moment.

really enjoyed the last line... and spent some time thinking about how it tied the rest together... what it might say in and of itself... so I did some research and learned the pantographs were used in early recordings, while my own limited expierence with the word was an instrument used to copy or scale drawings and plans..

and I saw... how well the ending line fit..

truly enjoyed..and always learn from reading you..

cpat, thanks amigo...I did enjoy the machine of pantograph working at the duplication concept..evolving into pure mirror or "saming" I guess one could say...kind of where the poem started in my head.

Another poetic creation of yours that becomes an event which carves itself deep into the mind.

Your mind perceives the soul's depth and beauty I think and combines it amazingly well with natural sensuousness.

Wonderful write.
