Most days, post trip
I spend in quiet reflection
upon knees begging

Guilt, my new lover
refused to allow my
heart's heal
courting me daily
lest I forget this
gaping hole inside

even tears failed
to garner relief
& his pain filled eyes
are testimony to devotion
I do not deserve

Most nights I lie awake
in arms listening to his
whispers in blue
amazed at how it gradually
turns purple, then bleeds
red as roses upon my lips

to my right, love is sure

was my broken heart not
rescued along that deserted
road of yesterday?

Still, he nestles inside
as I again inhale the pungent
smell of pine...

beautifully done ma'am...

it touches on many things and plays some sad refrains as it does..

truly enjoyed.

Thank you, Captain. I was in the archives and came across an older poem I'd written and was inspired to write the third installment.

Thanks for the kind words sir!

Hmmm...I seem to be finding
the "blue series" of poets
postings...

but I like. Indeed, I do.

A great sensitive write, dear Sunkissed. May the pine fragrance overpower the scent of guilt!

Love,
Margherita
