She Couldn't Be You

You were so good
that when you went away
I couldn't stand
to be alone
so I tried to replace you
with someone new,
but no one could replace you,
only she came close
providing softness for my touch
bringing pleasure to my eyes,
but she simply won't do
because she'll never be you
no matter how hard she tries.

The lament of those harmed by near-perfection denied. I sympathize.

Well and succinctly put here.
