Languid afternoons

doze off chasing love in dreams

sweet inertia reigns

A sweet haiku but can anyone ever match a collocation of three words like these - `sweet inertia reigns`.  Gosh, I love the sound of those three words together.

I seem to doze almost every afternoon due to the dreadful heat1. This was beautiful.

Very nicely composed... a top-drawer description of summer siesta time at its finest. Great pic, too.

Hi Margherita - Summer will soon be upon us here and I'll no doubt enjoy a few languid afternoons but as for chasing love in dreams - think I'll give that a miss but then again even dreams have a will of their own.  "Sweet inertia" - yes, lovely!

I loved that line in the movie, "Show me the Monet!!!"

Oh wait, maybe that was a different kind of... oh fohgitaboutit

Margherita my friend, you and Monet do each other justice with your art.

Fantastic!

I love the words with the poem...
all is beautiful.

I only have a problem in that I
don't doze well in the heat,
and the bugs, well, bug me...

but you knew that!

dozing off is easy
but dozing off like this can only be written by you dear Margherita
it's that first minute when you feel yourself sliding into the quiet, settling into the earth, losing all sense of thought that carries the sweetness

love this

Oh, this is divine, Margherita - "sweet inertia" only "reigns" for me with Flicka and Daisy at Flicka's grave, and ohhhhh how sweet that is.  I wish I could do nothing more often, but workaholism is incurable and the need for it seems incurable!  LOL.

I liked!  I love haikus, always have. You can say so much with so few words

Thank you, dear Yann, the painting has disappeared. Will provide the link to see it here.

I felt inspired to write this on one of these summer afternoons when one is really too weary and hot to do more than reading ... I found the picture afterwards to match my thoughts.

Love,
Margherita
