Bat'ling Thoughts

Just when I thought
I made it through,
a shadow streaked
across my view.

Diving here
and twisting there
avoiding what
I mostly fear.

Cell phone dialing
under seige:
Internal screams
of "Help me please!"

Until flying act is gone,
Bat'ling thoughts live on and on!

ah.. for such small creatures they do seem to inspire a dread in most...
I found this and enjoyable read ma'am...but wanted to know the follow up, how is it resolved, for it reads like the beginning of a tale....

very nice

They induce mysterious fear, but they are fascinating beings when you think of their abilities!

Very nice work, dear Maureen.

Awsome! I've been in caves and seen these suckers first hand, although not the vampire kind. I love the rhythm, and the quick images brought up match the timing well. Thanks.

Loved your poem and love bats (outside) as they eat so many bugs! I hate bugs.

Thanks everyone. I know  bats have their use but when they find their way indoors to fly overhead when I am sitting in the dark watching tv, I jump and run and try not to scream as I did two years ago in such a high pitch that it came after me thinking I was  its mate ( I guess! It was caught in a towel and set free...not by me I have had a fear of bats since a young child.
