Listening to every heart

It is hearty to decree
a sanction to lessen misery
a give and take
it’s so decried
to wipe those tears
from your eyes for

You Are Hereby Authorized

to come and go as you
please,
to live a life with grace
and ease
to be hearty in your
desires
to live until you can
retire,
and then you might
realize

You Are Hereby Authorized

to know that enormous is big
and miniscule is small
that petite is tiny
and lengthy is tall;
to have opinions
as you may, then
realize you may
have a day of
surprise

You Are Hereby Authorized

that in the best of
all life’s tests
that in the rise
of your surmise
that in the glean of
your serene
everyone must live
a life,
be it animal
child,

husband
or wife

You Are Hereby Authorized

to give a smile
though you sense gray,
smile a mile so you may
brighten up anyone’s
gloomy day
by reflections that come
back to you,
in all you say,
in all you do,
and in this immensity
of surprise,

BELIEVE, for

You Are Hereby Authorized

Eldest, that's up to you, m'friend...

Ida, you've been authorized in more ways than one. Thank you!

Andrew...top shelf is for great margaritas...but then you always knew how to enjoy yourself.

Bobby, thank you.

Earl, thank you for letting me know.

I read this redo at my poetry writing class tonight. We have some "new" people who have been with our group for 3, 4, 5 years...they hadn't heard it yet.

They enjoyed the ending, as well.

Excellent write... and it is so true that people in general do better when the load is shared, hence, "authorization."

Sunshine,
Thanks for this definitive up-beat message,
every word of it, if only I'd heard it before I was self-lobotomized.

I would tell you that this is superb writing; however, I would be guilty of being repetitive, and needing to find another adjective...
Oh, to heck with it...

THIS IS SUPERB WRITING!!!!!

Engaging, creative, and original...in other words...nicely done. That is in my humble opinion, and in the truest sense.
