Good Day  Good Bye  Good Luck

It’s about three years ago when my good friend Rick
told me about PIP, I knew it wasn’t just idle rhetoric
He said you will really like it there, you’ll meet a lot of friends
Many folk who love to write & whose friendship they’ll extend.

I thought about it for a week or two & to join up I decided
The friends I’ve made, the pleasure received by all of you provided
But there comes a time in each ones life one has to say goodbye
My health is on a slide down-hill, a disappointing fact I can’t deny.

So to Mike,Ron Linda, Tracey, Ruth, Margherita, Bill, Ida and Yann
Toe-rag,  Alison, Bobby, James, Lamar, Earl, & Richy and Stan
Karilea, Kacy, Dixie, Eldest, Easy, Helen, Classy Lassie & Sharon
Tim, Maureen, Jimmy, Vandana & two with the name of Karen .

There’s been many others too who have been kind to make comment
I can’t remember all their names but they sent reply’s quite eloquent
So to each & every one of you kind folks I say thanks with all my heart
For so many times you’ve made my day in giving me a happy start.

My memory and concentration has always been my special attribute
But now I find that my concentration is gravely in dispute
The pleasure and enjoyment that I have had in writing verse
I’m afraid is waning sadly and my memory is getting worse..

So while I’m still capable I thought I’d better say goodbye
To all my kind and generous friends my sincerest thanks apply
I have heard it said that all good things finally come to an end
So I sign off a happy man in knowing I leave behind good friends.

Mr. Lindsay P. Wilson,

I am moved beyond words by your poem and find myself wishing upon a star I can't see (midnight sun, you know) that you will find the ability to pop in now and then and share your smile.

You have made an incredible impact upon me - not only as a poet, but as a man and friend.  When I come to PiP and see your name, I smile.  I will always smile when I think of you.

May that road always rise up to meet you and may the wind be always at your back.  You will be missed each day that you are not here.

With love and respect,
Alison

Lindsay,

Our friend, on the days you feel more sprite
should be the days you attempt to write
for filling your mind with stories so kind
will help you to rest, and unwind.

You've been a dear, kind man with a gift for all to share, and it has been our pleasure to welcome you and know that we all have a friend in common, our dear Rick. So you take care and perhaps pop in now and then to read, for poetry never ever leaves one's soul.

Great warm hugs,

Sunshine / Karilea

This is extremely sad news, Lindsay. You have always been a very special person and friend in my book and I will miss not seeing you here.

Just take care of yourself. Get your health in order and do your best to fight and overcome your problems. Hopefully, we may see you here once more.

Best wishes from your very close friend...

Though my replies have been sparse,  I’ve read most everything I’ve seen you post, and many’s the time I’ve wished I could sit somewhere and we’d have a beer or two.  Me, I’d mostly listen, because that’s what I do best, and you, you have so many stories, why would I want to speak.

Going to miss you around the pages, my friend, but my thoughts will always be full of you.

I wish you only goodness

Dear Alison, Eldest, Karilea, Balladeer,
Lamar, Jimmy and Tim, I love you all.
Just to say thanks seems rather inadequate

as those very flattering remarks I'm sure I don't fully deserve, but you all have
brightened my day and I say with the

greatest sincerity, thank you thank you thank you. Take care dear friends. May the sun shine upon you always.

Lindsay, your poems and responses are always so uplifting. I know somewhat what you mean about health, memory etc and the time and energy/effort it takes to be on here even when the time is available.

Just take care of you and your family and join us when you can. It has been/and is wonderful getting to know you from across the world. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers hoping you will stay with us forever~~

love and hugs

Dear Helen, Rick, Roniece, Maureen and Kathleen, I feel so very sad in having to say goodbye, but I am on over thirty tablets

and capsules a day and they affect my memory
and it takes me so long to write anything.
You have all been wonderful generous friends

and I wish you all, every thing that u wish for yourselves. May God bless you and watch
over you and bring you nothing but happiness
Love to you dear friends and take care.

Dear Lindsay,
I am so very sad that I will not be able to find you here at PIP and enjoy your talent, kindness and wonderful sense of humor. The site won't be the same without you. I am so sorry to hear about your health issues. Please take care and know how much you mean to us here at PIP.
Thank you for your encouragement and just for being you.  I hope you will be able to pop in now and again.

                 Love and Best Wishes,
                              Ida

Lindsay, friend...

your memory is good enough to remember me and others by first name...no sweat mate, everyone's memory does them wrong sometimes somewhere...please don't leave I ask.

But if you must, then I wish you fair weather and high sails.

Love you buddy

Oh Lindsay, my dear, dear friend Lindsay. This news saddens me beyond belief. I have been ill and in and out of the hospital and was unable to read my emails. Then when I could, my computer went belly up and I just now had a computer "Geek Guy" spend 5 hours fixing my 'baby'! Now I am going through a gadzillion emails that I have to respond to and that is when I found the emails that you sent to me and which consequently led me to this post.
You will be sorely missed at pip. Your poetry, your kind responses, your whit and your gentlemanly charm.
I'm off to send you a long over-due email!

Love you, my dear Aussie Man!

Oh, noooo, dear Lindsay! I was away when you posted this and all this time since I came back I wondered why you never showed up. Now, thanks to Linda, who has brought this post up, I know.

You have been (I don't like to use the past tense and I do hope you will peek in!) a wonderful presence here on Pip with your inspired and also often humorous poetry.

To write is also a brain training, so I would like you to continue. Meanwhile I send you all my love and appreciation, as well as a big dose of healing energy and blessings your way.

Thank you for this poignant poem.

Love and hugs.

Dear Lindsay

you are kindness and goodness (of the very best kind) itself and you have touched so very many of us, as is obvious by the many, many replies to your poems, including this one.  Tears are flowing down my cheeks at the thought that you won't be brightening the days and evenings of Pipsters, nor have Pipsters adding to the happiness of the smiles you always seem to have, but mostly because you are not feeling well.  Your poetry has been uplifting, inspiring and often chuckle-inducing and this space your absence will create is going to be hard for all of us to handle.  I cannot get into Pip very often, but we have replied to each other’s poetry on many an occasion and to know that you aren’t going to be here any more, is rough.  I will be thinking of you and praying for you – there is always space on my prayer list.  You rest and take it easy, and if you stop writing, at least keep reading poetry – even if not ours, poetry from books, from print-outs, but especially read your own (you will then get to see why we all enjoyed it so much and liked you so much!)  as poetry feeds the soul, brightens the day and is a guiding star in the darkest night, and even just thinking poetic thoughts and seeing things with the eye of a poet can lift the spirit to heights which those without poetry in their souls, sadly cannot know.  That is something that I keep telling the children at St Monica’s Home where I have a poetry club meeting twice a month.

Thank you so very, very much for being part of my happy association with Pip, and may you carry with you at all times, the collective love and care and concern of all Pipsters.
