I sit in my shop, ready to make something new.
What shall it be?  New age or old, modern or traditional?
I go through the boxes, looking at the beads.
I come back again and again to the stones, the ones God made.

Reds, yellows, browns, blacks, hints of color, smooth and cold
the stones of the earth in all their variety.
Jasper in a multitude of types, calls out to me, "use me!".
The tiger's eye growls "use me" and the peach jade whispers "use me".

I rub them in my fingers, stroking their cold hardness.
They were here when the earth was created, hidden from eyes.
Now, here they are, smoothed and polished for all to see.
All they need is someone who can put them together to shine.

I have a strong affinity to stone....and how it speaks slowly to you if you listen
and can hear.

I think the one to make them shine must listen and it will come to them, they will be found.

interesting piece that can be read on more than one level...
nicely done
