She stared at him
With her small wrists
Like little olive branches
Brazing the wind.

His eyes calmly sat,
Sifting through the paper,
August at his back,
She leaned over
And smelled the back of his neck

His breathes gently paced
Crossing his legs as he turned the page,
Her oval mouth against his skin
Her slight cough, a winters grin

She reached for his hand,
Like the gallop of the night
Sitting so still,

They fell into each other,
Until their lips stayed, just a little longer.
