Naive

My heart
remembers how
good you made our love feel.
You made me feel like perfection.
There was nothing that could get in our way.
I was so in love, so blinded
by your sweet promises.
I handed you
my heart.

Well hello rosepetals, innumerable.

Some folks scoff at those who are naive, but I happen to find the innocence endearing.

When you become experienced and wary, those same people will say you are jaded and bitter if you choose to voice that.

Some people...shaking my head.

We won't worry about them. You still have your heart. <--a spare, because um, you'll likely do it again. *smile*

Hi and ty.  I will take that spare heart but I'm gonna lock it away awhile lol.  It will come in handy one day I'm sure!

I like this. It has the ring of truth about it.

Almost everybody has some kind of story like this, some more extreme and long-lasting than others. However rottenly the writer here was treated, I must admire the understatement or perhaps the restraint employed.
