"How much can I get for this?"
He frowned and squinted,

interesting

But I could tell,

he pursed his lips:

My soul's too tarnished now for Hell.

"Nothing for the history?"

certified?

"No papers, we--"

He raised one eyebrow up.

He paused.

"Not we, just I--
I meant just me."

If you have others, then perhaps...

"I'm all alone now." Satan laughed.

They'll get hungry. I'll get them.

I thought before I answered him:

"They don't believe that you exist.
I told them you were naught but myth-
a rationale for all that is
unworthy of intelligence."

Then he disappeared and I
woke up and fumbled for my cigs.
I lit one up and realized
that I've forgotten how to cry.

I made some coffee, made it strong,
as I mused about how long
I could go without the need
to close my eyes again and dream.

sometimes "life" makes me want to take up smoking again~~~

p.s. crying comes too easy for me ( my father use to say there was never a shortage of water in our house)

It is interesting. However, upon waking, it was merely a dream---or rather a nightmare. We are strange creatures that way, at times.

I also like the soul too tarnished for Hell line, although probably for slightly different reasons. The word "tarnished" denotes (or at least implies) redeemability.

easy? I'm going to bank on achieving some interesting veneer.

Sending love and gratitude from vulcanville.
