I was watching the baseball game
tonight
thinking
you really can’t steal home
with your foot still on third base
can you?

You know people always wonder
why we go out on a limb
in the first place?

Well,
it’s because that’s where
all the sweetest fruit is,
isn’t it?

You know,
even when you don’t make a choice,
still, you’ve made a choice
haven’t you?

Decisions,
they are the stitches
of our future.

They’re those swivels,
of our eternity.

They’re those wonderful
couplings,
of our destinies.

As they really do make up
the sum
of our existence
don’t they?

It’s hard to follow your
dreams
when reality,
has burned all the bridges
you were hoping
to cross.

I hate it when that happens.

But it’s something I’ve come
as accustomed to,
as breathing.

Sometimes I’m just afraid
that I’m never ever
going to become who I,
really am.

Whoever that is?

Whatever,
that is.

People always tell me
just be yourself,
just be yourself
and you will
be happy.

But guess what?

They were dead
wrong.

I don’t want to be,
whoever this is
I am supposed to
be.

I’ve just got to be,
better than I was,
yesterday.

Dear god,
how could I not?

And maybe,
just maybe,
not quite as good
as I’m going to be,
tomorrow.

That’s my problem.

I always want
too much
don’t I?

Why can’t I just be
happy
with being the
unhappy person,
I’ve become?

For me
this world will always
be
much, much, more beautiful,
then ugly.

And even if I spend
my last days
alone,
I will not
regret
and I will not,
misgive.

I just hope someday
I can accept,
my own
apology?

For breaking the
promise
I made,
to my silly
soul.

But at least
I only broke that pledge
with myself.

Maybe in that,
next life,
I will be the sun
and you,
the rain.

And together we will make
that rainbow,
we keep hearing,
nice things
about.

That one
that finally brings us
where we almost knew,
where we belonged
this time.

Together.

It is a sad write, Richy, but one which I am sure many can relate to.  Perhaps the purpose of this life is to make us think a better one next time but who really wants to think that far ahead?  We do though vaguely and that's perhaps the problem.

Richy - you surely can express your thoughts in words. This is an amazing write, with so much said...
