Above the school,
white gulls fly.
The pupils left,
it is the holidays.
I miss freedom,
the sun can’t replace it.

I enjoyed this but I think freedom is a state of mind, and like to think that I have always been free to fly.  Try it!

I loved you poem, Yann.  However, it is a misconception that birds are free . . . they are forever looking over their shoulder (metaphorically) . . . in flight, in resting on a rock, in the nest - for winds too strong, for birds/animals of prey, and that just for a start.  Yet they epitomise freedom in their brave confrontation of the elements and enemies, and in the precautions they take so that they can "fly free" and embrace life in the round - and in so doing, they inspire us who are far more equipped for survival, to do the same.  I have SO much love and admiration for these fragile little creatures.

I get a little more of a "time flies" feeling from this. Well, there has to be more than one way to be free... Besides, don't those gulls really belong down at the beach? Thoughtful work, thanks for the good read.

Thanks Owl for the  very interesting and thoughtful comment, birds are the most sponrtaneous animals, always ready to flee, always in alert, but it doen't seem to cause them troubles, it is in their dep nature, instinctive and surprising...

have a nice day
