Love don't grow in a
   desert of broken promises
Love don't grow in a
   sea of broken dream
Another lie cast at my feet
   like a glowing gem
Left to torment and tease me

Love don't grow in a
   wasteland of empty nights
Love don't grow in the
   coldness of an empty bed
Another promise to drown me
   in salt water tears
Yet you dont choke on the words

Love don't grow in a
   heart left barren by neglect
Love don't grow in a
   river flooded by regret
Another lonely night
   floating on the sea
The sea of broken dreams

nice to read you again, Paula

You know sometimes it's the little things that keep love growing: understanding, compromising, a smile, a phone call...

Hi Paula.  How are you?? You were the first one who got me started on Pip, and I will always remember that!!!
As for me I haven’t really done anything.
This poem oozes with deep pain and suggests deception, seduction and betrayl, of a trust violated.
I do hope I am wrong, or that at any rate you are now healing.  How does it feel to ## (we won’t tell).
Anyway , my Pip email does not work but I can go online and read the replies.

Love can be fragile or strong, mistaken for obsession, last short or long. Some people never seem to learn and others, well, somehow they do.

A good read---I can feel the disappointment, of course.

That is my favorite line.  I think you have been peeking into my life when you wrote this lol

Girl, you sure do know how to squeeze the words out of your heart, and it really is sheer poetry!  Good to see you again...
