A Flatland Dawn

Dark isles, trees upon
a distant Florida mist...
Cars, trucks whisper by.

****

Squirrels Shake Branches

Squirrels shake branches,
not as wind, but as children
on a play mission.

Thanks to all for your kind words.

I can understand why people sometimes come to love those Florida ranch and grove flatlands, just by observing their beauty upon occasion. I hope they are preserved well for generations to come.

As for tree squirrels, the young like to play, but they can also be vexing little varmints. Hard to hold it against them too much, though.
