Bottle Rockets By: Noah Eaton 7/14/07 Baby, when you first set your sights on me, that balmy, humid cosmic summer evening, I stood and saw rainbow fire kiss the sky, and killer bees buzz like starmines. You returned your love with a flaming boomerang, stolen away in this glittering masquerade, we were more restless than Siamese fighting fish, pop went the genie, granting our wish. Now that we’re the hot topic, with you, everything’s kaleidoscopic, ooooohhh, we light each other up like bottle rockets. We saw silver hummingbirds ascend the mountains, and geysers go off like Krakatau fountains, the moment we fell for the first time, which your tender lips helped ignite. Dazzled by coconuts and chrysanthemums, revolving snowstorms and tantalizing totems, crowns of rubies and lakes of sapphires, the halcyon heraldry young hearts enquire. Now that we’re the hot topic, with you, everything’s kaleidoscopic, ooooohhh, we light each other up like bottle rockets. (Woooooo!) Winnowing the electric forest for shamrocks, where sunflowers cavort like whipping tops, watching you and your auguries spray and play, like an Indian house on Diwali day. Flowers of thunder are booming in my heart, each pet name sparks like a Maltese petard, gazing upon the fireworks show in your eyes, on this hot summer night. Now that we’re the hot topic, with you, everything’s kaleidoscopic, ooooohhh, we light each other up like bottle rockets, ooooohhh, we light each other up like bottle rockets, ooooohhh, we light each other up like bottle rockets. (Yeah!) "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |
