In this cold and lonely place,
I stand-alone and am forgotten.
There is so much to do
But I have died in my own right.
No one knows me for who I am
And no one really cares.
People used to notice,
Everything that I did.
Now it’s like,
I don’t even exist.
I used to think
That I was good looking,
Now no one even looks,
Or talks to me.
The people that I cared for the most
Have all just vanished into thin air.
I have no one or anything any more.
Its like I’ve lost part of my soul,
But in fact I’ve lost my mind and my heart.
And there is nothing that can fill that void.

It's times like this, out in the middle of nowhere, away from our fam and freinds, that we really come to terms of many things, like survival, and will, and honor.

We are never really alone, unless we close our heart and choose to be.

Really enjoyed this poet.
Happy Fourth of July!

I take it that you are no longer in the navy
Well I hope things are a lot better now and that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck my friend.

Do you now have someone around you?  As long as you are on this list, these lovely people will care about you.

It's tough being screwed over by the Confederacy of Dunces. Yes, it is.

I hope things are better now. A thought-provoking work, and I thank you for mentioning it is from the past... If I post any years-ago stuff here (which I haven't yet), I must remember to attribute it as such. Thanks.
