Feathers

bright

a big yellow

that one's used alot

contrast

with the purpling

there-in

against the have-a-lot

and nots

dignifying

dank darkness

a splash of cadmium resents

the charcoal of the rendering

of my city, not the same

as feathers bright

and yellowing

like teeth

against

the tongue's backlight,

calling in the squall

tonight:

"I am pretty

afterall--

I am Big Chief

and

you're small--

I am everything they say:

singin'

Jack-a-mo-fee-na-ne."

Hey now...hey now...

some years ago I saw feathers found in an Anasazi site that were at least 900 years old.  the colors still were brilliant...like your words, they do not fade with time.

If it were just me saying so, Charly, I'd down some soma and beer and belch gratitude, but damn me for falling in love with odd-looking, intelligent and unavailable men...

(Um, J.C.)

THAT'S JAMES CARVILLE for folks who don't know me better. I totally love the other J.C. but I've been convinced that the Mary Mags theory is totally correct--seriously, every thrift store rendering of the last supper has one certain apostle wearing lipstick.

proof enough for me.

I should get some sleep.

Or at least buy flats for the wedding rehearsal. REHEARSE THE MARRIAGE I SAID.

(i doubt I'll be missed...)

Go ahead. ASK ME.

Nod.

It took me over a quarter of a century to show up for my OWN wedding....

do I seem grumpy.

Fed X XTC. <-one can hope.

Danke' m'ladyloves. (and special thanks to Ron, who makes me possible--serious nods to Mr. Carnell--a helluva thing, huh? Ain't life strange?)

Thanks for reading--I just got back from da corner store for yet another pack of cigs--I'm gonna cough up a lung in the middle of the wedding, methinks.

And bless my fat butt in purple chiffon, I was totally drooling over a box of Cap'n Crunch, but I summoned my will and said "Hellz to da no"

Can I get an amen?

tsk tsk tsk?

Ron? If you didn't have such hot chicks in here, well, I'd probably still be hitting on the code enforcement lady two doors down. Or eating Cap'n Crunch.

*chuckle*
