Between the Lines

Bull's Eye

It came to me while laid out for the night,
the extremes of punishing thought.
Wondering I, in the break of each line,
where such moments like these were taught.

An end to an end of the means to an end
then disappearing as quickly as came.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth:
life's disappointments, its aim.

I think I know what you convey here in such perfect poetic form, dear Maureen. And yet, in the end we know that the only answer would be love.

I agree...the only answer is love..which begets tolerance, which begets understanding...
now I'll stop before I start to sound like I am quoting old testament verses with all my begets. :-)

Regrets and ill will can eat us alive can't they?

The more we can forgive and forget the more we can place that dart of happiness in the red dot, of our heart.

This was great Maureen, thanks for share!
