woman of the worldly willows glancing
do you still sip those whiskey songs down
and press your belly to their moan music

do you remember how my hands fit your sins
and made you whisper vulgar words slowly
as if the sensations of their syllables soothed

or stirred the heathen need of hearing voices
the ones less proper than ladylike authorized
but the ones that were needed there more often

to keep the edges of your armor well oiled mostly
and sometimes just wet enough to swim your sighs
into the lovely concussions you could strum

while straddling highway lines with your eye ways

Oh, my, how you make the words dance! A wild, passionate dance that accelerates the heartbeat.

Lots and lots of alliteration here...

always well done, sunny side up...light
toast and butter salty...

and of course there are the willows...
I have written of willows, but their flow
is always different from here
to there.

Oh yeah...I like the poem, too!

You have given a whole new definition to syllables!  As if they could sooth!  You are the master of the line!  Where do these lines come from?

EB....they are the sounds (I imagine) of the highway under gypsy wheels....the sounds of a woman sky in mornings as she wear only the dawn..the sounds of an ocean mating some cove with fervent undulations..thanks amigo

Daark and not a little disturbing, but compelling none the less.

A poet must leave traces of his passing not proof.
