is it insane

i ask

that we spend
a sunlit saturday
in march

chasing smoke

while others
go about their day
unaware
there is even
a fire

hold my hand

hang on for the ride
as the lion roars across
november's embers
igniting a spark
that suffered through
the thin air of winter
but burns anew
in the heady winds
of spring

This is pretty good work, and from a curmudgeon type that's praise. It's been said the winter part of March "comes in like a lion", but that ferocity can sometimes linger. I know a thing or two about unraked leaves, too.

An enjoyable and invigorating read!

The poem glides along fine.  Winter in March is no fun!
