The Solstice Song
By: Noah Eaton
6/21/03

Fires of the heavens
Blend in the wings of a yellow-throated sparrow
Backstroking in reverse through a misty morning rain
Where the meadowlark waddles in the fountains
Bubble bathing in epiphanies, promises, blessings, and estuaries
Marauding the dusk for pearls for young souls.

Summon the kaleidoscope waiter,
spring is the ritual,
that summons summer's dance,
Letitia Ladybug kissed your cheek,
cicadas worship the green apples blushing...

Shine in the solstice
Shine in the solstice

Caught free will
Through a daffodil
As she sung in her flowerbed
An epic quodlibet
Washed over by a vinaigrette of cotton rain
So I offer my salaam
And filled my pockets with saffron
To nurture the empire in my garden
Paying my tributary
Testing my trial balloon to this illustrious day

Summon the kaleidoscope waiter,
spring is the ritual,
that summons summer's dance,
Breena Butterfly's leaped out her cocoon,
firefly laser show before a hydrangea moon...

Shine in the solstice
Shine in the solstice

Fires of the heavens,
blend in the wings of a yellow-throated sparrow,
soaring against a Hinayanistic june rainbow,
where a lumberjack is caught in a Dolly Varden,
Blue-Eyed Mary's wear dolman sleeves,
and the pimpernel wears high heels and emerald scarves

So blow a kiss to her majesty
And wear her lilacs for her inaugural tea party.

Summon the kaleidoscope waiter,
spring is the ritual,
that summons summer's dance,
Letitia Ladybug kissed your cheek,
cicadas worship the green apples blushing...

Shine in the solstice
Shine in the solstice

Come, my child…
I’ll show you colors you’ve never wondered,
I’ll show you a revirginated sun,
the skipped heartbeat of summer...

Hey Noah dear friend, how have you been?

Your writing is as incredible as ever, wonderfully unique, brilliance strewn throughout.

What a cool picture dude!

Looks like all you need is a few waves and you'll be walking on water.

So nice to read you again.

"where a lumberjack is caught in a Dolly Varden,"

Lovely line!

Your work gets better and better with each season's change.
