Weeds do better than my planted things
I pluck them in the day’s twilights
Hoping for survival beyond Spring
Watering when no storm comes at night.
Only Basil survives my touch of brown
Few of my plantings survive my ground
But I’ve pesto a plenty on my sunroom
Only the hearty survive Summer Gloom

According to some bard or other even weeds rank in nature. Basil is good.

I also cannot keep an (indoor anyway) plant alive! lol
.
Thankfully, the N.W. waters the outdoor ones for me..
.
I DID keep my Christmas Amaryllis alive for 4 months, though!!  That`s a record...

Maybe you need to move to So. Cal. Professor.
Almost anything will grow here as long as you water it.

Oh, enjoy the pesto at least!

had to laugh out loud at Dixie's reply!!

I always pity the weed, because it is not loved and still if you look close it is beautiful too.

Love,
