Woman Pause If my influence wanes, it has still made a lasting impression The wordless joy that resides in the folds and creases of your eyes In your heart You are a man of strength and stealth, whim and wealth Though I behold the more of character than of obligatory toys The bond between us may remain unspoken, and forever unbroken Although I’m sure I’ve shared too much If the patience I’ve applied has indeed denied all I’ve waited for To finish a sentence, when I do not wish to be finished Then forever let me wait right here, beside the slim of your breaths Untouched, yet un-tethered, for you know every dream comes at cost If my influence wanes, tears or primal sweat is water all the well Then what do you care, and why would you be sorry? Perhaps everyone's influence wanes as they get older. It is certainly my case. However, you have expressed this feeling with great sensitivity in your poem. Well done. |
