Thursday,
and I can't stop fidgeting,
death is the body's birthright,
and desire, nothing
but spilt milk,
or a mouthful of fruit.

Kiss me, kiss me not,
show me the delicate flowers.
enact.

My heart pulses red
out of its depths, bloodflower,
damp, rhythmic, imaginary, shhhhhhhhh,
if only I, if only,

split like a fragrant poppy,
I paint my name, blushing red,
desire is white heat
in the blistering veins,
thirsty, wanting,

my skin, a violet haze,
this is the canvas of desire,
skin, damp touch, current.

O how it diminishes,
whisper, obsess,

say these words, say them,
white sheets, white blossoms
and jingle days my heart marks in bird sound,

a silver thrum,
now hushed, hush-hush, listen,
as the hummingbirds lightly rupture
from all this cornflower mayhem,
over the pale, blue-nailed porch,

one thimbleful of wet light
pours into another,
I was wrong about oblivion, after all,

the moon is an antique dirigible
that drives my addiction to alignment,

for a moment I forget my fear of rainstorms,
shimmy, under the summer of your fingers,
the notes slide loose from my belly
in a long jellyrope of eggs,
take root in mud, and hatch,

a lie,
a waltz,
an apostle of glass,

in the clutch of tiny, elegant isotopes,

Thursday,
and there's no sharpshin
on a pivot for an omen,
it has whittled away into a blue, blue sliver,

I mean it, older now,
I still mistake curiosoty for longing,
I still see chaos as a house to escape from,

I am counting on getting through this,
if only I, if only

we had been more diligent,
the cuts on our hands would be tributes,
tributaries in the dunes,

memories like ricepaper,
ribbon away oblivion
from the dead pulp mill,

tomorrow night I will burn at the stake for this,

and silver birds will rise from my body,
all capels and sepals,

for iron is the last element of a star's collapse
into eternity.

Dear girl,

there is moment
then depth
then delivery.

You have encompassed all...

although I would like to enquire
of more.

Might we speak?

A different lilt, certainly. I also see clay's vermilion giving way to the ruby and violet of air...

More, please
