Lazy Years

It's beginning to feel like those lazy years
when every thing passes you by.
Whether memory or on wisp of a breeze,
I often awake with a sigh~~

When young, time often took too long
but now it seems on the fly.
Never enough to complete all the wants
let alone the wishes (of I).

So thoughts just ramble in the morning fog
to dissipate in  heat of the day.
As I swing to the tune of the yesteryears
and hope for the best, come what may.

I like this because it reminds me of an old tune by Frank Sinatra `September`.  You are in good company.

Yo gal, time does fly as years accumulate, memories tend to evaporate, but I still have one dream I remember, just a thought however, of you and your penname...."thoughts" of you....LOL

nice to read you again....
Lazy Years~~  it does at times seem as if the years pass too quickly and that there is never enough time ( or energy) to do all the things that must be..

enjoyed this ma'am... and for a moment, I saw again morning fog and the haze of summer...

I'm hearing you loud and clear, Maur!

Good to see you found from time out from teaching to write some verse!
On hiatus for awhile, but wanted to stop into Lady Maureen's poetry corner for a sec,
lots of love,
Jeff

You guys are too much, and I appreciate your responses and wit.
Earl, sometimes you sit and think too much  to find some meaning in life~~~

Toe, too cute although that is in my mind also since you only show your toe to us~~
My memories are there and  pop up at the strangest times. It's those "elusive dreams" I am after.

C, good to read you again also. Just thinking about "that energy thing" wears me out!

Jeff, Oh my...too long a time since we use to catch each other on here. Hope you are  feeling better as I try to get my older age medication under control. Wishing you  a calm and healthier summer.

loving you both back!

Just the right touch of nostalgia in this piece.

I remember counting the days until my birthday and how slow they drug along.  I like this poem, Maureen. Time is flying faster all the time - sometimes I am just on a tilt-a-whirl as I watch my days spin past me.

These days are part of the process, and of a plan that is larger than life itself.

I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that all my ducks may never be in row.

Weighs a little heavy, but always so lovely coming from your pen~

There is much truth in this poem and I know it all too well. Loved it!

Lindsay, thank you. Luck doesn't play any part in it   I think my fate has been written.

yann, thank you for your thoughts (lucky you, living in France   )

Well with 4 children and their futures you should never be lonely in those years.
Thank you for the visit,Amaryllis.

Enchantress, so good to see you. I hope life is treating you and your family well, Nancy!

A, you are  too young to have your days spin by...the worst part about it is that you feel you can't get enough accomplished anymore in a day's time.

BC, your thoughts and my time...just fly by too fast

"all my ducks may never be in row." sort of like never put all your eggs in one basket      Sometimes we count on "things" staying the same or at least at a comfort level...sighing~~  hoping all is well over there, Lor.
always

Misty Lilacs, thank you for understanding!

whisperingwalt, thank you for your thoughts. We all age at different rates, and no one can really tell us what it will be like until we reach those points ourselves.

Dear Maureen,

As much as one goes through sometimes, I hope that most moments find you smiling and with few regrets

Years are never lazy when the days are felt with love.

Richard, "ups and downs"...life with few regrets.
Years are never lazy when the days are felt with love...a nice thought thank you.

Eldest, your name makes me smile as one of 5 I am neither eldest, youngest or middle child~~~ maybe that is my problem...nothing to relate to.

M

Bruce, I don't have much to say lately...sometimes I feel I am in limbo, again.
Nice to see you here.
