Coming Home

As she went
into the garden
she could hear a violin
playing in the distance
as she moved towards
her favorite shade tree,
a sleeping willow
that drank from
the gently running stream
that she adored,
the sounds that
soothed her heart
as the cool water
washed over the rocks,
the memories she shared
there with her lover
under the tree
beside the stream
within the garden.
In a moment
she would pray
to a loving God
that had blessed
her life with
the beauty of nature
and for the man
that she loved
who would soon
be coming home.

I was admiring the structure: except for one of 7 syllables, all the lines are between 3 and 6 syllables, and very well mixed for pace. Reading this piece is a bit like playing a tough tennis rally against somebody who knows how to use many variations of spin.

Very dreamy and beautiful.. I really liked.. for some reason it reminds me of the wooziness of The Talking Heads` "She Was"
.
Wonderful!
